Project Title: Are children of Hispanic immigrants aging faster than expected? An epigenetic analysis of stress and aging.
Epigenetics is the study of chemical changes to DNA that can mediate environment-gene interactions. A new measure of epigenetic age indicates if one is aging faster than one’s chronological age. This study will examine how exposure to psychosocial stressors influences the rate of epigenetic aging in children of Mexican immigrants.
