Assistant Professor, Landscape Architecture, Human Ecology
Project Title: DredgeFest California: Bay-Delta Earthworks
Research Statement: Brett’s research operates in the fields of landscape architecture, ecological engineering, environmental planning, and the development of theoretical and material frameworks for encountering accelerated processes of landscape change. This research focuses on the design and management of interfaces between land and water, such as rivers, deltas, canals, ports, and urban waterfronts, exploring methods to meld ecological and infrastructural performance metrics with aesthetics and augmented forms of social and political engagement. He is a founding member of the Dredge Research Collaborative, which curates symposiums and transdisciplinary design workshops that investigate the design and manipulation of sedimentary processes.
