Project Title: Weinstein Manifolds
Project Description: I propose mathematical research in a rapidly growing field: symplectic geometry. The objects of study, Weinstein manifolds, have connections to string theory, algebraic geometry, and low-dimensional topology. I study Weinstein manifolds via fundamental building blocks of an approximating skeleton. I will undertake key steps in the development of this program, which will have a direct impact on advancements in symplectic geometry and other fields. This Fellowship allows me time during this pivotal pre-tenure period to complete this work by funding a course release, one graduate researcher during Summer 2021, and travel for a trimester program at lnstitut Henri Poincare.
