Project Title: Quantization and Encoding for Modern Data Acquisition: Algorithms and Theory
Profesoor Saab’s research focuses on the mathematics of signal processing. His work draws upon and develops mathematical tools to solve problems motivated by the acquisition, digitization and processing of signals. This project focuses on developing and analyzing methods for not only digitizing, but also efficiently representing data acquired from a broad range of modern paradigms. Specifically, the technical goals of the project are to formulate and theoretically analyze low-complexity quantization and compression schemes, and their associated reconstruction algorithms, in the settings of compressed sensing and low-rank matrix recovery.
