Project Title: Quantization and Encoding for Modern Data Acquisition: Algorithms and Theory

Profesoor Saab’s research focuses on the mathematics of signal processing. His work draws upon and develops mathematical tools to solve problems motivated by the acquisition,┬ádigitization and processing of signals. This project focuses on┬ádeveloping and analyzing methods for not only digitizing, but also efficiently representing data acquired from a broad range of modern paradigms. ┬áSpecifically, the technical goals of the project are to formulate and theoretically analyze low-complexity quantization and compression schemes, and their associated reconstruction algorithms, in the settings of compressed sensing and low-rank matrix recovery.
