Project Title: Toward quiet transformative electrical vertical aircraft
Project Description: Electrical vertical aircraft will transform existing methods of transportation and enhance human life. I propose to study the complex flow patterns of transformative electrical vertical aircraft and the associated noise they generate. We will use computational fluid dynamics to capture the interactional aerodynamics of such vehicles, and develop mathematical formulations to predict tonal and broadband noise generated by these aircraft. This research will help to increase public acceptance of small-sized urban aircraft flying in heavily populated cities.
