Project Summary: Soldiering through Empire: Race and the Making of the Decolonizing Pacific
Soldiering through Empire examines the history of Asian soldiers who were recruited to labor for the U.S. military in the decades after World War II. Recently liberated from colonial rule, these South Koreans, Filipinos, Hawaiians and Asian Americans emerged as participants in the making of their new nations and the U.S. empire.
