2014 Hellman Graduate Awardee
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Adrian Po was considered foolish for studying Physics instead of finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Physics has always captivated him and opened up a world of possibilities. After his sophomore year of undergraduate school, he enrolled in a summer research program at UC Berkeley. “To me, my undergraduate experience was like walking into a misty forest only to discover the trees have conspired to create an endless maze. Enchanted, I dived in and here I am at Berkeley,” Po says.
Po is now a second-year student in the Physics Department at UC Berkeley. He says that the Hellman Graduate Award is allowing him to focus on researching Physics theories. “The network formed by the awardees will also provide a vibrant platform through which I can exchange ideas and insights with students from different disciplines,” Po says.
