Andreana Rosnik

2014 Hellman Graduate Awardee

UC Berkeley

Although Andreana Rosnik’s dreamed of becoming an artist or illustrator when she was young, she later became interested in science and decided to major in chemistry at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. “I was fascinated by how so much of how our physical world behaves could be explained by (often simple) chemistry or principles.”

Prior to enrolling at UC Berkeley, Andreana Rosnik researched at a chemistry lab in Barcelona, Spain on a Fulbright Full Grant. She is now a first-year graduate student in the Physical Chemistry Ph.D. program with an emphasis in theoretical Chemistry. Rosnik is interested in researching quantum coherence in photosynthesis, and says that the Hellman Graduate Award will also allow her the opportunity “of working with a variety of scientists both at Berkeley and beyond.”
