Dana Lapides is a first-year graduate student in the Earth and Planetary Science department. She earned a B.S. in Math from Lafayette College with a minor in Physics.
After focusing on theoretical math in her undergraduate career, she became interested in applying her knowledge to climate change. She is interested in deepening our fundamental knowledge of atmospheric dynamics and clouds in order to contribute to better climate models and a deeper understanding of what to expect with climate change.
“The Hellman Graduate Award is a very prestigious honor. The award will not only provide needed support as I work toward my PhD but will provide me a strong introduction into the academic community.”
